Project Overview
J&F Water Treatment supplied a comprehensive water treatment package to a sauce manufacturing factory looking to improve the quality of water used in its production processes.
Water quality is an important consideration in food manufacturing, where a suitable and consistent water supply is essential to support production requirements. The project combined reverse osmosis, carbon filtration and water softening equipment to provide a tailored approach to the factory’s water treatment needs.
The Challenge: Improving Water Quality for Production
The factory required a water treatment solution to improve the quality of its incoming water for use in sauce manufacturing.
In food production, the quality of process water is an important consideration. Depending on the incoming supply and the requirements of the application, treatment may be needed to reduce dissolved impurities, address hardness and improve the suitability of water for specific production processes.
J&F Water Treatment supplied a combination of treatment technologies to address the factory’s requirements and support its water quality objectives.
The Solution: Commercial Reverse Osmosis and Water Filtration
To meet the project’s requirements, J&F Water Treatment supplied a range of commercial water treatment equipment, incorporating reverse osmosis, carbon filtration and duplex water softening.
The equipment supplied included:
- Ecosoft INOX 8 MO2 reverse osmosis system – designed to reduce dissolved impurities in the water.
- 18 × 65 CIFT carbon filter unit – providing carbon filtration as part of the overall treatment process.
- 18 × 65 CITT duplex water softener – designed to soften water and provide continuous softening capability through alternating vessels.
- WS1 bypass assemblies and vertical adaptor – supporting the system installation.
- 8-inch ELP-440 reverse osmosis membranes – supplied for the RO system.
- Permeate flushing kit for MO2/MO4 systems – an additional component for the reverse osmosis equipment.
Together, these components provided a combination of water treatment technologies selected to help improve water quality for the factory’s production requirements.
Supporting Water Quality in Food Manufacturing
Reverse osmosis is widely used in commercial and industrial water treatment to reduce dissolved solids and other impurities, depending on the membrane and operating conditions. Carbon filtration and water softening can provide additional treatment where required by the incoming water quality and the intended application.
For sauce manufacturers and other food producers, selecting the right combination of treatment technologies depends on the source water, the required finished-water specification and the demands of the production process.
J&F Water Treatment supplies commercial reverse osmosis systems, industrial filtration equipment and water softeners to help businesses find suitable solutions for their water treatment requirements.
