Overview
A busy caravan park in Ireland, home to 290 mobile homes and catering for up to 1,600 guests during peak season, needed a robust water treatment system to ensure safe and high-quality water throughout the site. Their borehole water had already been partially treated for iron and
manganese, but they faced an ongoing issue with high chloride content and some water hardness. The water was used for drinking, bathing, and other domestic purposes, so compliance with health authority guidelines was essential.
The Challenge
The park required a high-flow system capable of delivering between 7.5m³/h and 9m³/h of treated water. Their main concerns were:
- High chloride levels from slightly brackish water
- Water hardness, which posed scaling risks
- The need to integrate with existing iron/manganese treatment systems
All treatment equipment had to be installed in a dedicated container on-site.
Our Solution
J&F supplied a complete commercial-grade reverse osmosis system designed to meet the site’s flow and water quality requirements. At the core of the solution was the MO9 RO system, fitted with brackish water membranes to handle the saline load effectively.
To address scale formation, we included anti-scalant dosing equipment and a raw water blending assembly, ensuring the final water met safe consumption standards and protected the RO system from fouling.
