Agricultural Borehole Water Treatment Project
J&F Water Treatment recently supplied a complete borehole water treatment system for a farm and farmhouse where the existing water supply was affected by high levels of iron and manganese.
The property relied entirely on a private borehole, meaning both the agricultural buildings and the farmhouse required a reliable system capable of improving water quality while also protecting pipework, equipment, and appliances.
Working closely with one of our trusted dealers, J&F designed and supplied a tailored system specifically for rural and agricultural water treatment applications.
The Challenge
The borehole water contained elevated levels of iron and manganese, which were causing:
- Discoloured water
- Staining on sinks, bathrooms, and fittings
- Build-up inside pipework
- Potential damage to agricultural equipment
- Poor overall water quality in the farmhouse
In addition to removing iron and manganese, the system also needed to stabilise the water quality and ensure it was safe and reliable for everyday domestic and agricultural use.
The Solution Supplied by J&F Water Treatment
After reviewing the water quality and application requirements, J&F supplied a complete borehole water treatment system designed to improve reliability and long-term performance.
The system included:
10×54 Filter Ag Plus Iron & Manganese Removal Unit This filtration unit was supplied to remove iron and manganese from the borehole water supply. Filter Ag Plus media provides effective filtration while also improving overall water clarity and performance across the system.
13×54 Ecomix System An Ecomix unit was supplied to further improve water quality by treating multiple contaminants often found in borehole water. This helps deliver cleaner, clearer water to both the farmhouse and the wider property.
10×54 pH Correction System A dedicated pH correction vessel was installed to stabilise the water and help prevent corrosion within the property’s plumbing and equipment. This is especially important for rural properties relying on private water supplies.
Luminor UV LB5-103 System To ensure the water was safe for use in the farmhouse, a Luminor UV system was also supplied. This provides reliable disinfection and helps protect against harmful bacteria often associated with private borehole water supplies.

The new system has significantly improved the quality and reliability of the property’s water supply.
